OLED screen test

Cycle fullscreen colour fields and run a timed pixel-refresh pattern while keeping the duration visible.

Also known as: oled screen test, oled burn in test, burn in test, image retention test, pixel refresher. Free, online, and no download required.

What the OLED screen test checks

CheckHow it is measuredFails when
Colour sweepThe fullscreen controller advances through the registered OLED fields.A field cannot cover the active viewport.

Check the connection and selected device, then repeat the failed check: the cycle pauses in background.

How to read the result

How the oled screen test works

The OLED sequence advances a fullscreen pattern index from an animation-frame clock. Elapsed time is based on performance.now rather than interval counts, so delayed frames do not lengthen the reported duration. Manual arrows update the same index, and leaving fullscreen stops the active cycle while retaining the elapsed value.

What the result can establish

Keep the tab visible for the chosen duration, avoid leaving static controls over the pattern and stop immediately if the display or device manufacturer gives different operating guidance.

Measurement limits

A browser pattern cannot run panel firmware maintenance or guarantee that persistent image retention will change. The tool only provides controlled fields and an accurate page-run timer.

OLED screen test questions

What is the difference between burn-in and image retention?

Image retention is a temporary ghost that fades after the panel displays other content or runs a refresh cycle. Burn-in is permanent uneven pixel wear that no cycle removes. Only time separates them, which is why one colour sweep cannot give a final answer.

Can this pixel refresher remove OLED burn-in?

No. A web page can only display controlled colour fields; it cannot run the panel firmware's own compensation cycle. Cycling fields sometimes clears short-term image retention, but genuine burn-in needs the manufacturer's maintenance routine or a service claim.

How long should I run the OLED burn in test?

Keep the tab visible for the duration you select, and stop immediately if your display or device manufacturer gives different guidance for sustained full-screen colour. Elapsed time is measured with performance.now, so delayed frames never inflate the reported run length.
