Permission control
Camera and microphone access begins only after you press start. You can stop a stream from the test controls or revoke access from the browser address bar. Active tracks are released when the test stops or the page is closed.
Local history
Tools that offer history store only their own bounded result records in this browser. They also provide a direct clear-history action. Media and device-label combinations are not written to local storage.
Optional analytics and advertising
When enabled, Google Analytics receives page-view information and Google AdSense loads advertisements. These services may use cookies and receive browser and network information. Our page-view events exclude URL query parameters, device labels, keystrokes, recordings and test measurements.
Optional Microsoft Clarity
Clarity loads only after you choose Allow Clarity in the footer preferences. It records navigation and interactions on our home, tools index, guides index, about, privacy, terms and contact pages. Microsoft may receive browser, device and network information and use analytics cookies. Advertising storage consent is not granted by this choice. Page text, images and inputs are masked, including content rendered outside the main page area.
All hardware tests, individual guides and other routes are excluded, as are pages or referrers with query parameters or URL fragments. Camera images, microphone audio, recordings, diagnostics and measured results are not sent to Clarity. We do not send custom identity information. Withdrawing consent in the footer stops Clarity and reloads the page to unload it; this does not change Google Analytics or advertising settings. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
