Common questions
Are these hardware tests free and do they work online?
Every test on this site is free, runs online in the browser tab you already have open, and needs no download, installer, extension or account. Opening a tool page is the whole setup.
Do these tests measure hardware or only the browser?
They report hardware events and streams that reached this browser. Timing results also include operating-system, browser, rendering and scheduling overhead, so every timing tool states its measurement boundary.
Why do camera and microphone tools ask for permission?
Browsers require a clear user action before exposing either stream. The suite asks only after you press start, keeps the stream in this tab and releases active tracks when the test stops.
Can the mouse tool prove an intermittent fault?
It can record missed, duplicated or uneven events while the page is open. A clean short run cannot prove that an intermittent fault will never return, so longer diagnostic runs are available.
Does this work on a phone or tablet?
Camera, microphone, sound and display checks can run on supported mobile browsers. Pointer, physical-keyboard and gamepad tools keep their explanation visible but state when desktop input is required.
Are recordings or measured values uploaded?
No hardware stream, local recording or measured value is uploaded. Bounded history stays in this browser, and anonymous analytics never includes device labels or measurements.
